The overall structure of the project DT-CRYS comprises 3 Workpackages (WP’s), as shown in the diagram below. Accordingly, the overall value and volume of the project is broken down into these 3 Workpackages.
Although the work in the 3 WP’s proceeds simultaneously and synchronized, WP 2 (Micro- and nano-structured materials) is highly dependent on WP 1 (Synthesis, optical and spectroscopic investigations of bulk materials), and WP 3 (Applications) depends on both WP 1 and WP 2.
The multidisciplinary structure of the consortium is provided by competencies in the fields of crystal growth, surface and nano-science, spectroscopy and laser design. Most of the contractors are involved in more than one WP, however, none of them in all 3 WP’s. This is a consequence of the fluent boundaries between synthesis, structuring, characterization, and application of the materials under study.
